Knowing your glute shape is important to be able to achieve your desired body aesthetic. I spent years doing the wrong glute exercises wondering why I still didn't like how my butt looked because it didn't have the shape I wanted. Here is how to figure out your shape.
1. Take a picture of your glutes from the back and side
2. Determine where the top and bottom of your glutes are
3. Compare to the five glute shapes
Heart Shaped Glutes:
- Narrow at the top and wider towards the bottom
- Round cheeks
- Fat in the lower portion of the butt and thigh
- Resemble the shape of a hear
Square Shaped Glutes:
- equal in size from the waist to the hips
- more volume at the top and flatten out at the bottom
A Shaped Glutes:
- narrow at the waist
- trapezoid shape
- fat distributed in the lower glutes
- “saddle bags”/ fat in the hip area
V- Shaped Glutes:
- inverted triangle shape
- Fullness at the hips and top
- Narrow at the bottom
Round:
- fat is evenly distributed in the lower and upper part of glutes
- “bubble butt”
