Knowing your body shape is important so that you are working the correct areas to achieve your body goals.
1. Take pictures standing straight at a front, back and side angle.
2. Take measurements of shoulders, bust, waist and hips
3. Compare the picture and measurements to to descriptions below
INVERTED TRIANGLE
- wide straight shoulders, broader than your waistline/hips
- accumulate weight usually through the torso and back area
RECTANGLE
- hips, waistline, and shoulders have about identical widths
- accumulate weight evenly but may accumulate more through the upper body or neck
- straight shoulders
APPLE
- hips & shoulders have identical widths
- waistline has an identical width or is broader
- acquire weight mainly around the waist
- high hip is broader than your lower hip
- bust and/or abdomen are bigger than your hips
- shorter waist
- thighs or hips are presumably the slimmest part of your body
PEAR
- hips are broader than shoulders
- rounded, slanted shoulders
- well-defined abdomen
- buttocks and thighs are well-rounded and full
